A decision was made to purchase a retired school building on the site overlooking Burnt Land Brook and the village of Boiestown, N.B. On December 11, 1956 a set of by?laws were established for the Lodge and fifty?six petitioners signed a warrant of dispensation indicating their desire to the forming of Landmark Lodge. The Warrant of dispensation was granted effected March 19, 1957, and at a meeting of the petitioners on this date, the Lodge was opened under dispensation by the Most Worshipful Grand Master Arthur E. This building known as Landmark Lodge No 51 has continued to serve a very active and growing fraternity of Masons until this present day. Regular Lodge Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month except for the months of July and August at 8:00 P.M. Membership has reached a maximum of approximately 140 masons throughout the 43 years since its beginning, however in recent years, membership has declined owing to deaths of an aging membership and a decline in new applications for membership. A more detailed history is presently being compiled by our historical committee and this web site will be updated as new information becomes available. |
